new dolphin swim academy coming to cottage grove!

On Monday evening, September 21st, Dolphin Swim Academy was unanimously approved by the Village of Cottage Grove to move forward with the construction of a new 7,500 SF swimming instruction facility in the Village’s Commerce Park. Following discussions with the Village’s Ad-Hoc Architectural Review Committee and Plan Commission, the project has seen its way unanimously through the entirety of the Village’s process, as the Village welcomes the addition of the Swim Academy to its local community!  Situated at the intersection of Landmark Drive and Limestone Pass, the facility will house swimming instruction opportunities for children as well as two 25m swim lanes for practicing and recreational use.

The team at Ramaker has had the opportunity to conceptualize the facility from the beginning, working with Academy owner Brittany Ballweg.  From preliminary programming and space-planning efforts, through building design & engineering and site planning and aquatics design, the Ramaker team was able to work across all services to transition Dolphin Swim Academy’s well-known presence into a physical location within the Village!  “Dolphin Swim Academy is excited to start making waves in the community through quality swim lessons and water safety education,” says Ballweg.  The community’s response has been nothing but welcoming!  The Forbair Group, led by President Nick McDonald – a swimmer himself – will lead the General Contracting efforts of the project.
