Sauk Prairie Outdoor Pool Renovation

In fall 2020, the Sauk Prairie School District and the Sauk Prairie Recreation Department partnered with Ramaker to update their iconic bathhouse and repair their six-lane, L-shaped swimming pool, wading pool, and diving well.

Improving this water recreation fixture for students and families in Sauk Prairie required close coordination with an experienced project team. Ramaker’s architectural and aquatic engineering professionals collaborated with Kraemer Brothers, who served as the general contractor, and Badger Swimpools, who addressed pool improvements. Numerous local contractors also contributed to the project.

The renovations began with the bathhouse, which was built in 1935. Ramaker’s architectural team helped modernize the facility while maintaining its classic appearance. The team addressed masonry repairs, louver replacements, and interior finishes. The facility’s office space and changing rooms were also updated.

Ramaker’s aquatics team renovated the three outdoor pools to make them safer and more usable for the growing Sauk Prairie community. The team designed a new wading pool with play features and modified the L-shaped pool’s basin to create a larger shallow area for younger swimmers.

Improving the area surrounding the pools was of tantamount importance to updating the pools. The pool deck was extended by approximately 1,300 square feet, new shade structures were added, and new diving boards and water treatment equipment were installed.

Ramaker’s investment in this project’s success went beyond professional expertise: Our team was eager to work on a project that would benefit our community. Despite the aggressive timeline for renovations, our project team completed all work in time for the 2021 summer swim season.
