Ramaker Named Top Workplace by Wisconsin State Journal

MADISON, WI — The Wisconsin State Journal has named Ramaker one of the Madison area’s Top Workplaces. Ramaker joins a select group of 60 companies in Dane, Sauk, Columbia, and Rock counties receiving this recognition in 2022. The firm ranked sixth in the midsize category.

The announcement follows a standout year for Ramaker. Throughout 2021, the firm continued to pursue its mission: enhancing the lives of the firm’s clients and employee-owners. As the pandemic presented challenges, Ramaker’s architectural, engineering, and interior design teams pulled together to address client concerns and find creative solutions. From offsetting rising material prices by redesigning project elements to keeping projects across the country on schedule by leveraging remote work and virtual meetings, the firm’s employee-owners showcased their resilience and resourcefulness.

As a 100% employee-owned firm, Ramaker’s success depends upon the success of its employee-owners. The pandemic created uncertainty, but Ramaker remained resolute in its commitment to the physical and emotional well-being of its personnel. The firm transitioned to a hybrid work model, allowing its employee-owners to stay connected and agile throughout the year while also giving them the flexibility and support to navigate pandemic-related disruptions at home.

“Over the past year, Ramaker’s employee-owners approached a number of challenges with creativity and persistence,” said Ramaker President Mike Pinske. “They kept their focus on Ramaker’s mission, strengthening partnerships with clients and staying committed to fellow team members. This recognition is a testament to their efforts: Ramaker is a Top Workplace because we have top people doing exceptional work.”

With the annual Top Workplaces awards, the State Journal recognizes Madison-area companies that score highly in key categories pertaining to workplace culture. Energage, a Pennsylvania-based technology company, conducted employee surveys for participating organizations in 2021. These surveys gauged employee sentiments on organizational alignment, coaching and professional development, employee engagement, confidence in leadership, individual and company-wide performance, compensation, benefits, and more. Energage tabulated results based on employee feedback and ranked high performers among similarly sized companies to accurately compare results.

Headquartered in Sauk City, Wisconsin, Ramaker has 114 dedicated employee-owners on staff. The firm opened its Madison, Wisconsin, office in 2020. Over the past few years, the firm has expanded its staff and service offerings to better assist clients in the aquatics and recreation, cemetery, commercial development, hospitality, multifamily development, renewable energy, restaurant and retail, and telecommunications industries.
