Meet an Owner: Josh

RAMAKER is a 100% employee-owned company! Our owners have worked tirelessly to complete thousands of projects internationally - from water parks, to hotels, to cemeteries, to telecommunications - and much, much more! We believe our owners are what makes RAMAKER so great, so click below to learn more about Josh, one of our amazing owners!

What’s your role at RAMAKER?

I am a project manager in the Telecom department with a structural background. I worked in the structural department for about 4 years before transitioning into the project manager role. I still try to stay sharp with my structural engineering skills working on rooftop mounted solar panel installations.

How long have you been working at RAMAKER?

6 years

What do you like most about working at RAMAKER?

I like the smaller company aspect that has such a big outreach. Even though RAMAKER has a relaxed atmosphere, the employees take responsibility into their own hands to ensure project delivery. I also have coworkers that I can refer to as friends and get together with outside of the office.

What’s something that has surprised you about your chosen career path?

I had never envisioned getting into the Telecommunications field or even knew there was so much engineering involved for that matter. It's a much faster-paced, smaller project/larger quantity type work that I would never have expected to work on but definitely enjoy.

Where did you go to school, and what did you get your degree in?

UW-Madison, BS in Civil Engineering & UW-La Crosse, BS in Physics.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy being outside whether that be on the golf course or on the lake at my relatives’ cabin. My wife and I also like to frequent the local breweries to try the ever-changing beer selections.

What type of music gets you to sing along?

I primarily listen to country music.  Eric Church is the most likely to get me to sing along.  I have seen him in concert over 5 times.

If you weren't in the architectural or engineering field, what would you be doing?

I’ve always liked math.  I was originally going to go to college for accounting or finance until I took a physics class my senior year in High School that changed my mind.

What WOULD BE your dream vacation?

We would like to travel to Ireland and Scotland to see the historic golf courses and check out the local pub scene.
